Fender Jazz Bass Prices

Music Man Stingray or Fender J-Bass (Both 5 string)?
Okay, so I play bass. I have heard a lot about the Music Man Stingray, and I know that it’s a popular bass. However, I know that Fender’s Jazz Bass is a classic and also very popular. I play all kinds of music (I haven’t found my genre yet) but I play a variety like, rock, funk, metal, jazz, alternative, and blues. I have a simple 4-string Ibanez, and like it’s simple, clean sound. But I need a 5-string. Which bass should I get for a variety of sound? I play slap & pop too, so which one is better for that?
PS If you could estimate the prices for new ones, used ones or whatever that would be really nice:)

Um yea that has nothing to do with the question, idiot.
I would say get an LTD six string for a good slap sound, but if you want the pop too, you should get a Tobias Bass (it is a commonly used bass, but you never hear its name- I bet you 3/4 bass guitars you see on TV shows, performances, etc are Tobias Basses. However, since its real nice but expensive , you might want to buy a cheaper bass like a Fender J-Bass. I wouldn’t say a Music Man Stingray because it is only good for solid tone (unless you add effect/distortion pedals), not funk and jazz style. For Jazz, you could get a fretless bass from Fender. Whatever, you do, do not get a Gibson Bass- I have played on it before, but it is only good for metal type music with distortion. As for price ranges, you can check out SAMASH.COM for info. You can probably get a good bass from 250 to thousands of dollars. I personally recommend the Fender J-Bass, but get a Fender amp with it if you can. Hope this helps. Keep slappa da bass
