How To Play Blues Licks
A Cathartic release for me with no rhyme or reason?
Smooth white sand
Cerulean blue water
Kissing the sun
I look out into
The tropical paradise
Watching the kids play
While the adults bask
In the golden warm air
I loathe the warmth
Of the thick down coat
That envelopes my body
As a light breeze comes
To lick the sweat trickling
Down my parched skin
“What is wrong with you”
Some have asked,
“Take off that coat-cool off.”
But it’s no use I am zipped up
And locked in, mailed the key
To the chilly state of Alaska.
The closest to cold is so far away
How can I make it to Alaska?
Where I can find my key,
I want to cool off in Alaska.
But I am living my life
And wasting my days here.
Trapped in paradise.
Hi again. I have had the fortune in my life’s journey to have lived at both ends of your spectrum’s here and I do enjoy your poetry’s longing description of them. In mind it brought this quote to me; Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion; it is not the expression of personality, but an escape from personality. But of course, only those who have personality and emotions know what it means to want to escape from these things. Again, I enjoyed it and I simply loved Alaska, thanks.
