good wah wah pedal for Gibson, for heavy metal fan?

They're just rec'd a solid body electric Gibson (not sure of the model but it is ~ 1000. New) and calling for a wah wah for his B-Day. I did a search but sooo many parts. Any suggestion, which has played bass for a couple of years, but is new to the guitar. Anyone have any experience with Vai pedals? thanks.

Wah wah Morley Bad Horsie Steve Vai is the signature of the pedal. Morley is more or less standard in wah pedals. Make simple but good effects and worth the money. Another good alternative would be a Crybaby wah pedal, but I prefer Morley. If your child is new to the guitar however, you may want to get a multi-effects pedal with an expression pedal that can be assigned to the wah effect when wanted. G2.1u I have a Zoom pedal which has good wah effects that can be assigned to the expression pedal. Not sound as good as a true Morley Bad Horsie wah pedal, but allow you to experiment with different effects and mix them to find out what seems to like it, then you can get individual pedals later once you have an idea of what different effects do and what he seems to like.
