Neck Fender Strat
I am mounting a new neck on a Strat body but the neck slot is just a tad too wide. What’s the fix?

This is neither an official Fender neck or Fender body.

Hello! You will need to place a hardwood shim on each side of the neck to center it in the slot. It will probably be necessary for you to make the pieces from scratch, to have them be perfectly flat and to the correct thickness. You want to ensure that the heel of the neck rests square in the body cavity, such that the bridge and pickups will align properly with the strings. Depending on how much extra space is involved, being able to see the resulting gaps could be a visual detriment; however, there is no reason why this would not result in a functionally-correct coupling. Just take your time, and be prepared to do it over until it turns out right! Best regards, Dana
